Appropriately, Kim’s tandem partner was ex-serviceman Martin Wilshaw, who has completed over 6,700 jumps in his 37 years as a parachutist – a welcome reassurance for Kim!

Kim saw for herself the impact of the charity when a close family member was injured in Iraq, and she is considering another jump, next time as a solo diver.  Kim said of her charity endeavour, ‘The free fall was amazing and the whole experience was exhilarating.’

Dean Evans, of our Wolverhampton site, and a group of friends completed the Ben Nevis Mountain Challenge,  in the rugged Cairngorms of Scotland on Saturday 23rd July 2011.  Dean completed the sponsored climb in an excellent 6 hours and 35 minutes, all the money raised is for his chosen charity Macmillan Cancer Support. Dean has personal experience of their qualities and says ‘They are fantastic and have been a tremendous support to my family and me during a recent bereavement’.

Dean travelled up to Scotland on Friday 22nd July, climbed Ben Nevis on the Saturday and returned back to Shropshire, very weary but fulfilled, on Sunday 24th July,he paid for all of his own accommodation and travel expenses.

Dean and his friends do not regularly walk up serious mountains so this was a real challenge for them all so please dig deep to sponsor them in their achievments. Dean says ‘It was a serious test for us but well worth it to raise money for the fantastic support that Macmillan give’.

• Use a small amount of household washing up liquid in a bucket of warm water and wash the wheels down every week. If you allow brake dust and grime to build up on your wheels it will damage the finish.
• A heavy build up of brake dust will normally require the use of aggressive acid based cleaners which will not only remove the grime but also eat into the finish of your wheels.
• We advise against regular use of mechanical car washes as some will use acid based chemicals as part of their cycle. In addition the abrasive action of some brushes can damage the finish of your wheels.
• Remember that low profile tyres provide less cushion effect for the wheels so take care on damaged road surfaces and kerbs.
